About us
At a dinner party in 1998, Steve's wife Christina boasted that her husband could cook "better Filipino food than my Filipino mother." It got Kasper's attention – he was writing an article series for the Washington Post about food and dinner parties and knew right away he had to meet this guy and test the claim. Turns out Christina was right – her husband did cook the best Filipino food Kasper had ever tried. An amazing dinner party led to a Washington Post article and became the start of a foodie friendship.
Catch them in the kitchen together and you will hear their stories. It's all about their shared love for food and cooking.
The time in Southern Spain where their search for this little restaurant in the mountains turned into a nine-hour drive (dinner was served at 1a.m. – but it was worth it!). Kasper, at age 19, cooking lunch for 850 people in Israel. Steve truffle hunting in Italy with a local mayor. How they pulled off a six-course meal after the power went out (hint: always keep mining hats nearby).
You will find a European and American cook in the kitchen who will share their take on the latest “it” restaurant while cooking everything from a multi-course molecular gastronomy tasting menu to a simple, but oh so good, chicken potpie.
